This Veteran's Day, employees from Casey's Corporate Headquarters and both Distribution Centers came together to support the Operation First Response (OFR) Backpack Program. This program provides essential personal items to wounded and recovering military personnel in combat support hospitals. From Monday, October 30th through Friday, November 17th, Casey's employees donated cash, unused clothes and personal items to the cause. During this time, employees also took part in two Jeans/USA Days, which contributed additional financial support for OFR.
In all, 10 large boxes of donated goods were mailed to OFR, in addition to $2,780 in employee cash donations. Casey's Charities also donated $2,500 to the cause and covered the postage to mail the items. This brought the total cash donation to $5,280.
Through volunteers, events, and financial and item donations, Operation First Response lends a hand to help wounded military personnel and their families in times of need.
